Teachers' Bios

Sandy McDonald earned her teaching credentials from the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Ashram in California. Sandy has taught more than 3000 classes in the last 5 years, she is very commited to her students. Sandy's style of teaching is very compassionate and selfless, focused on creating a non-competitive environment.  Sandy is inspired by the classical yogic teachings; she will modify poses to suit the modern yogi but stay true to the 5000 year old practice. She believes Yoga should not be reinvented, but cherished as it is. "Yoga is the most important reward from your day even if it's only a five minute practice."

Ruth Yenzer took her training course from Eight Limbs Yoga four years ago and had been teaching ever since. Her teaching style is a combination of Flow and Iyengar precision with Vini Yoga for standing poses. She uses Yin Yoga techniques for the seated and inverted poses. Ruth loves Yoga, teaching and laughing and is excited to do all three at Georgetown Yoga.
